Finance Administrator (12 month contract)

Full time: 37.5 hours per week

We have an exciting opportunity for a quality driven, professional and highly motivated individual to work closely with the Finance Officer and Finance Manager to ensure that the Poppy Factory’s financial transactions are properly recorded and reconciled.

Are you:

  • An experienced administrator with sound knowledge of financial and accounting procedures?
  • Someone with excellent IT skills, experienced in the use of financial software?
  • Able to commit 12 months to The Poppy Factory from December 2019?

The successful candidate for this role will have a sound track record of effectively delivering a service to the whole organisation, ideally in the charity sector. You will need excellent organisation skills and a keen attention to detail.

The ideal candidate will also have experience of charity VAT accounting and Sage 50 Accounts software.

Volunteer Finance Administrator

The Poppy Factory has an opportunity for a Volunteer Finance Administrator to work closely with the Finance Team to ensure the Poppy Factory’s financial strategy and objectives are achieved.

About the Volunteer Role

We are looking for a volunteer to provide support to our Finance team in Richmond to ensure accounts payable and payment of expenses are processed efficiently and in line with financial procedures

This is a great opportunity for volunteers to learn about how the Finance department of a charity operates, and would provide practical experience for someone studying towards an accountancy related qualification. We are looking for:

  • A commitment to the aims and principles of The Poppy Factory
  • An interest in Finance with a willingness to learn from others
  • Previous administration experience
  • Excellent IT skills including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail, with ability to follow set procedures

What’s the time commitment?

  • An initial face to face meeting to discuss your motivations, skills and experience
  • We are looking for a volunteer who will be able to commit to 1 day per week, for a period of at least 6 months
