The Poppy Factory celebrates Volunteers’ Week

Sam Sowemimo General

This week The Poppy Factory organised a little party to say thank you to all volunteers, recognising their invaluable contribution to the charity. They are very dedicated and play a big part in The Poppy Factory’s mission to help veterans with disabilities and employers create successful careers. Some volunteers overcome their disabilities to support us and are a big inspiration to Poppy Factory.

“On behalf of everyone at The Poppy Factory, thank you. Your contribution is immense and we are enormously grateful for your support.” – Deidre Mills, TPF Chief Executive

According to the Volunteers’ Week website, the estimated value of volunteers helping UK charities is 22.6bn. There are over 165,000 voluntary organisations in the UK, many of whom rely on volunteers. The Poppy Factory has now reached over 100 volunteers working in different roles.

“Our volunteers gave us a thousand hours since January this year. It is really amazing! We wanted to say a massive thank you to all our volunteers who gave their time and support,” says TPF Volunteers Manager Alice Barret.
