Defence Secretary drops in

Grace Andrews General

It was all hands on deck last week when the Defence Secretary, Ben Wallace,  visited The Poppy Factory alongside our Vice Patron, SEAC Glenn Haughton.

The Secretary of State was given a tour of the new building before meeting members of the production team to talk about their own experiences and their work preparing for the Remembrance period. He also took the time to learn more about our wider employment support, speaking about both in a video that has been watched by thousands of people online.

Writing on Twitter this week, Mr Wallace said: “Delighted to have visited The Poppy Factory to hear how veterans and volunteers are supporting this year’s Poppy Appeal. Research shows that The Poppy Factory’s employment support can lead to better job prospects, higher earnings and improved wellbeing for our fantastic veterans.”
