Dom was a Driver Lineman in the Royal Signals for just over 10 years but left in 2007 due to a heart condition, PTSD and anxiety.
He went into a job working as a welder but didn’t feel his employer was supportive or understanding of his mental health condition.
This week, we’re delighted to say Dom is starting a new job as a peer mentor at Barod, a mental health charity in South and West Wales.
Dom said: “I have had a fab Christmas and new year. It has been such a relief knowing I had a new job to start which has taken the pressure off me.
“Finally I have found a job I believe I will be good at and I have a new challenge to look forward to. I cannot wait to start, it couldn’t come soon enough. The Poppy Factory has been a great support throughout my search for employment, and I would highly recommend them to other veterans.”
