We have uploaded a Facebook album of some of the highlights from this year’s Field of Remembrance opening ceremony, where Poppy Factory staff and honoured guests were presented to HRH The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, and his grandson, HRH Prince Harry.
The Field was open for 11 days for the public to pay their respects to those who have lost their lives protecting the freedoms of this country.
Aside from the sober tones of remembrance, there is always an air of humour when old boys come together for often the first time in years.
This was the 87th Field of Remembrance, the first being held by The Poppy Factory at Westminster Abbey back in 1928.
All donations made at the Field are donated by The Poppy Factory each year to The Royal British Legion.
