Celebrating some great news!

Sam Sowemimo Disability, Events, Getting you back to work

This month saw Wayne Harrod (aka Harry), a Poppy Factory veteran and amputee, take part and complete the Prudential RideLondon challenge. He cycled 100 miles in a bid to raise funds and awareness of what we do at The Poppy Factory – helping veterans with a disability back into meaningful employment. It is an incredible achievement and – to top it off – Harry has just been selected for the GB Cycling Team for the Invictus Games 2017 in Toronto.

Our very own production team member, Tony Scott, abseiled off the Arcelor Mittal Orbit last weekend – the highest freefall abseil in the UK! A fantastic effort that raised over £750 for The Poppy Factory.

Pete Rhodes (Employability Consultant in North West England) and his son completed a gruelling Tough Mudder event this month. They raised over £1000 for The Poppy Factory. Check out their photos – pre and post mud! Muddy brilliant!

Some wonderful work by our Employment Consultants all over England, Wales and Northern Ireland this month. We helped 23 veterans back into meaningful employment. Our EC’s work tirelessly to achieve these outcomes but it cannot be done without your continued support.

Whether it’s generously giving, raising funds by taking part in a challenge event or even holding a bake sale, all your help counts.
