Due to internal promotion, we have an exciting opportunity for a quality driven, professional and highly motivated individual to lead and manage regional team members in our established community based employability service.
Since 2010, The Poppy Factory has provided an award winning employment support service to veterans facing physical and mental health challenges across England and Wales. Demand for our service continues to grow and we are looking for someone to join our team and continue to take the service forward with the needs of former Armed Forces at the centre of what we do.
Are you:
- An experienced manager who is keen to lead a motivated and established team?
- Passionate about improving the lives of our Armed Forces personnel after they leave service?
- Knowledgeable and experienced in delivering employment support services?
- Skilled at engaging, coaching and developing team members, championing high quality standards in order to deliver the best possible results for clients and employers?
- A collaborative worker, who is able to work closely with colleagues across the system to ensure service quality and strong governance?
- An effective communicator, experienced in networking and liaising with external agencies and partner organisations?
The successful candidate for this role will have a sound track record of effectively delivering employability services to people with mental and physical health problems, and will have excellent organisation, prioritisation and decision making skills. This role is home and field based so you will need to be self-motivated and comfortable with remote working and managing remotely, with the ability to maintain strong working relationships with colleagues.
This role covers the South region from Cornwall to Kent, also including South Wales, and will therefore ideally be based within the South-Central England region.

- Recovery oriented and hopeful about every person’s ability to succeed in employment, and open minded about helping people move into competitive jobs regardless of physical or mental health issues?
- A creative problem-solver who asks questions to learn more about a situation and is thoughtful and tenacious in working with others to find a range of possible solutions?
The successful candidate for this role will have a sound track record of working with people with mental and physical health conditions or disabilities and supporting them to gain and sustain work, as well as excellent employer engagement skills.
The role also requires strong networking and relationship management skills with the ability to work collaboratively with referral partners as we look to expand our service in the region.
Prior IPS experience would be a strong advantage, although training and support will be available

It is funded by The Forces In Mind Trust (FiMT), a £35 million funding scheme run by the FiMT using an endowment awarded by The National Lottery Community Fund. This is an exciting opportunity for a quality driven, professional and highly motivated and organised individual to join an established service working to the Individual Placement & Support (IPS) model. This role is offered on a fixed term basis.
Since we started The Poppy Factory employability service has facilitated over 1100 job starts for ex-armed forces throughout England, Wales and NI who experience some form of mental or physical health challenge in relation to work. Demand for our service has grown significantly; we are ambitious about supporting many more wounded; injured or sick veterans into meaningful and sustainable work and are now entering a further period of growth & research.

- Keen to be involved at the start of developing a new integrated Poppy Factory employment service within an NHS clinical setting?
- Able to form effective & collaborative relationships quickly with a range of partners in the Wirral?
- Recovery oriented and hopeful about every person’s ability to succeed in employment, open minded about helping people move into competitive jobs regardless of physical or mental health issues
- A creative problem-solver who asks questions to learn more about a situation and is thoughtful and tenacious in working with others to find a range of possible solutions?
The successful candidate for this role will have a sound track record of working with people with mental and physical health conditions or disabilities and supporting them to gain and sustain work, as well as excellent employer engagement skills.
You will need IAG or equivalent, coaching and motivational skills, excellent communication, prioritisation, project management, data entry and caseload management skills. The role is site based at the Stein Centre, St Catherine’s Centre, Birkenhead so you will need to be self-motivated with the ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with clinical teams and other colleagues.
The role also requires strong networking and relationship management skills with the ability to work collaboratively with both referral partners and local employers.
Prior IPS experience is essential.
